Sports Medicine / Lameness

Dr. Lane Easter is a world renowned lameness diagnostician and sports medicine therapist of the western performance horse... although he treats patients from all disciplines. He is also a frequently invited speaker on the subject of lameness at the international level. Dr. Easter’s practice caseload is comprised predominantly of lameness and orthopedic surgical cases and he is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (Board Certified Surgeon). Dr. Easter has pioneered new orthopedic surgical techniques such as coffin joint arthrodesis and authored numerous other medical publications.

The Performance Equine Associates hospital offers digital radiography, digital ultrasound, and fluoroscopy.  Other modalities such as MRI and nuclear scintigraphy are available for diagnostic imaging. Regenerative Medicine has become a mainstay at PEA and advanced therapeutic procedures including stem cell, IRAP, bone-marrow, PRP, and extracorporeal shock-wave therapies are used routinely in addition to traditional therapies such as joint injection.
